Audiences Unlimited musicians always pack the house at Lutheran Life Villages, with 20 – 35
residents joining us for each performance. The numbers are even greater for campus wide
events. Every month, musicians regale assisted living, memory care, and health care residents
with multiple performances, offering a wide range of songs and instruments—and always to a
crowd!

There’s a good reason for that. Did you know that music triggers emotional memories…even for
patients with Alzheimer’s? “When our memory care residents hear music,” said Emily
Stegmann, LLV Activities Director, “they come alive! That’s why we schedule two live Audiences
Unlimited performances every month for them. It’s so important that they get that extra special
benefit that only music can bring.”

In fact, every time AUI performs at Lutheran Life Villages, residents approach the musicians
directly and ask them when they can come back again. “They enjoy it so much,” said Stegmann,.
“We always see tapping feet, clapping hands—even dancing! When we have live music from
AUI, it’s always a special day.”
