As our Life Adult Day Academy students gear up for their Alice in LADAland performance, we thought you’d like to learn more about a few of our cast members. Meet Tracy and Nick, two dedicated students who have found more than just a stage through their connection with LADA—they’ve found a second home.

“LADA means family and home,” said Tracy, who’s been part of the program for nearly three years. “Theatre is a great opportunity to share our abilities and talents. I like getting to perform for my friends.”

Nick, who joined LADA two years ago, agrees. “LADA means spending time with people you care about, and who comfort you when things are difficult,” he said. “I like how much time and effort we put into our plays—from the props to the costumes. We do our best, and we have Gloria to support us and help us.”

Both students fondly recall their roles in last year’s Treasure Island—Tracy as the Parrot, and Nick as Long John Silver, a part he took seriously by watching lots of pirate films to prepare.

For Jenna Markley, LADA day program coordinator, this kind of growth is exactly what the program is all about. “This performance is more than just a show—it’s a celebration of who our students are,” she said. “It builds their confidence, allows them to connect with others, and gives them the joy of being seen and heard on their own terms.”

Alice in LADAland promises to be a vibrant showcase of creativity, courage, and community. Stay tuned for performance details and behind-the-scenes updates on social media!
